How did the project start?
TicWatches was created to provide fashion/designer watches to customers in the ever changing watch industry. Watches have now become fashion accessories as much as timepieces.
What options did you consider?
Originally we looked at opening a chain of watch retail stores but eventually decided on an eCommerce store which would be much more cost affective and allow us to hit a wider target audience at first.
What help and expertise did you receive?
Business schemes such as InBiz, Business Link, Princes Trust and the Cataylst 2 project have all helped in guiding the company into the right direction. This expert advice eventually led us to Visualsoft who eventually created our eCommerce website and eBay intergrated store.
Did you face any challenges or learn any lessons?
The biggest challenge on the internet is getting the customers to your website. Its best to get advice from the experts as money spent improving your rankings is very important especially in the watch industry.
What are the outcomes and how has it improved your business?
The eCommerce website has increased sales and the company now has an intergrated eBay shop which has generate even more awareness and sales for TicWatches.
What are your plans for the future?
The company is always developing and moving forward. We want to continue to improve our SEO as well as develop our product range, introduce new watch brands into the UK market, produce our own watch brands and increase the awareness of TicWatches offline with a number of small retail outlets throughout the UK and possibly international.
