How did the project start?

The owners of oldfield's restaurants contacted us in April of 2007 to help them achieve strong brand and consistency in their marketing materials. As part of the brief we were asked to build a temporary website to replace their out dated existing site.

What options did you consider?

We considered building a much larger site but decided that the mini site would provide a more consistent brand feel. oldfield's tone of voice is informal, friendly and intimate so it was felt that a small easy to update site would suit their overall vision.

What help and expertise did you receive?

We consulted heavily with the clients to ensure that we got a firm grasp of their key objectives and truly understood the oldfield's brand.

Did you face any challenges or learn any lessons?

The biggest lesson we learned was that no amount of research can replace an excellent working relationship and experience of your client to help understand and interpret your brief.

The brilliant relationship we have with our client allowed for open and frank discussions and a real understanding of the overall marketing strategy.

What are the outcomes and how has it improved your business?

Alongside the design of their new mini site we created a monthly e-newsletter with the goal of marketing monthly offers more effectively. This has replaced their paper based monthly newsletter and reduced monthly costs whilst increasing take-up of the offers.

What are your plans for the future?

The e-marketing is backed up with printed promotional work which drives potential customers to sign up to the e-flyers, increasing both the potential and actual customer base and helping oldfields to achieve regular dialogue with its customers.
