How did the project start?

After winning a competitive pitch for the website we developed, in line with the brief, a site which would be used as a resource for information about funding available for companies in the North East of England and which runs in conjunction with, and supporting, a number of courses and seminars.

What options did you consider?

At first we considered designing and building a standard brochure website. However we soon came to the conclusion that a fully content managed site would prove more useful and relevant to our clients needs.

What help and expertise did you receive?

We liaised closely with the client to ensure that the site asked the most relevant questions. Together we also worked to ensure ease of use to the end user making the site an essential tool for all businesses.

Did you face any challenges or learn any lessons?

The website has a 'Fund Finder' tool which allows registered users to answer a few simple questions about their business and the tool will present them with a number of funding streams from over one hundred sources that the user may be eligible for.

This was an immense challenge to ensure that the questionnaire generated useful results for the end user and strategic information for the client.

What are the outcomes and how has it improved your business?

To date the website and the fund finder tool has help over 500 individuals to find the correct information, training and funding streams for them and their business.

What are your plans for the future?

Due to the success of the first site we are currently developing a more comprehensive fund finder.

There are also plans to maximize the tools marketing potential through strategic e-marketing campaigns through the website.
