Dates: Nov 2006 to Dec 2008
How did the project start?
The project started as a result of submitting several tender document and failing to obtain a government contract.
After discussions with others I discovered that there were no possibility of obtaining the very relevant training that was needed to ensure even a level playing field - or reasonable chance of success.
What options did you consider?
There were no options - the required training was not available from anywhere.
Each person who submitted a tender, took a blind folded risk that they may be lucky.
Having been through the process, I know that it was not down to luck, but dilligent preparation at all stages of the process and beyond.
What help and expertise did you receive?
Had help from a now defunct Business Link, after discussions with the DTI.
Subsequently, I received an innovation grant from the DTI to bring the project to its current state.
Did you face any challenges or learn any lessons?
Endless setbacks and thefts of my intellectual property by persons employed by government business support agencies - to whom I had been sign-posted.
What are the outcomes and how has it improved your business?
Based on the endless hours of work and effort, we now have an ASET externally accredited training programme and is in the process of becoming a registered centre under the chartered management institute.
What are your plans for the future?
We are currently engaged in a multi-facetted marketing campaign that hopefully will show a return on our investment during 2008.
