Dates: Mar 2007 to Jun 2008
How did the project start?
UK Sport devised an anti-doping initiative, 100%ME, to inform and educate athletes about doping issues in sport. Indigo was invited to develop the web site and subsequently to produce a number of videos on the subject of anti-doping.
What options did you consider?
Initially, produced a 90-minute programme on DVD covering all aspects of doping in sport. Although this was widely distributed, the client welcomed the opportunity to include extracts online, in addition to a series of 'confessional' interviews with athletes who had tested positive for banned substances.
What help and expertise did you receive?
All of the material produced was in close collaboration with experts at UK Sport.
Did you face any challenges or learn any lessons?
Technically, no. The challenges arose largely from the fact that doping in Sport is a complex issue which had to be presented in a clear and engaging way. The interviews particularly proved to be extremely effective in illustrating the consequences of taking prohibited substances.
What are the outcomes and how has it improved your business?
For our client, reaching out to their target audience has been made easier and more effective. For Indigo, the project presented the opportunity to expand our remit.
What are your plans for the future?
The video production side of our business is expanding to meet all of the opportunities presented by video on the web. We see that the use of online media in all sectors can only increase.
