How did the project start?
The Rugstore NE wanted a new optimised front page to attract higher rankings on the major search engines and asked us to implement this with other off-page SEO work.
What options did you consider?
We designed the new page to be fully controlled by CSS styling. Also was the old page had lots of irrelevant copy and large images so we went through a series of compression techniques to get these down in size and re-wrote the copy to full utilise our keyword strategy without resorting to ‘keyword padding’
What help and expertise did you receive?
We have in-house SEO expertise.
Did you face any challenges or learn any lessons?
A previous company had got the site into a ‘bad neighborhood’ so our first job was to cut off all ties with this and implement solid quality back links from trusted websites.
What are the outcomes and how has it improved your business?
Since the site has had the work done, the Rugstore has steadily moved up the search rankings for all the major search engines. With the work planned in the future, we expect the site to be on the first page for all of it’s required keyword phrases. At present, we have achieved success with the phrases as follows; area rugs, contemporary rugs, Asiatic rugs and Chinese rugs
What are your plans for the future?
Further revisions to SEO strategy are constantly on-going.
