How did the project start?

I started blogging as a way to connect with my customers on a more intimate level. I run a creative business and the blog keeps my ideas fresh as I am always looking for new ways to inspire my blog readers.

What options did you consider?

I considered setting up a separate website, but even though I could have done that, using a template driven blog, such as Blogger, means the technical requirements are minimal and I can concentrate on the content.

What help and expertise did you receive?

None, the blog is the result of the many options offered by Blogger and my own graphics.

Did you face any challenges or learn any lessons?

Yes, Blogger upgraded their software last year which gave much more functionality and I have taken advantage of many of the new features, including the ability to use standard html to create buttons, for example.

What are the outcomes and how has it improved your business?

The blog now has a loyal following with many people leaving regular comments. There are reciprocal links to and from our main website and we have seen traffic and email sign ups increase by over 100% since starting the blog.

What are your plans for the future?

The blog is working very well, but the sequential, diary-like nature of a blog does have limitations. I would like to build a site around the blog so that I can offer some easily accessible sections for beginners, a gallery and other projects.
