Dates: Feb 2007 to May 2007
How did the project start?
The Tesco Great School Run is an event designed to encourage 7-11 year old children to take part in exercise for fun, and to help to make physical activity part of each school's and every family's lifestyle.
We were approached to create an accompanying website and learning resource for the project.
What options did you consider?
We combined the flexibility and visual appeal of Flash development, backed up by information from a database. The end result was a slick and interactive interface with informative and quality content.
What help and expertise did you receive?
We worked in partnership with Great2Run, who provided the learning content and assessments. We interpreted the content into a fun, interactive and web-friendly format.
Did you face any challenges or learn any lessons?
It was a challenge creating games and activities for the website which would appeal to 7-11 year olds whilst also including a educational and informative message.
What are the outcomes and how has it improved your business?
The website and event proved a great success, with national exposure on CBBC's Sportsround and a Guinness World Record achievement for a mass participation event.
What are your plans for the future?
We plan to create more educational web-based content for clients throughout the year, and will continue to work with Tesco for 2008's event.
