How did the project start?
Client's specific request for a secure remote access facility to give consultants the ability to share information on projects.
What options did you consider?
SharePoint was initially considered, but the functionality of our final solution was considered superior.
What help and expertise did you receive?
Designed entirely in-house by our software development consultants.
Did you face any challenges or learn any lessons?
The biggest challenge was to ensure that functionality requirements were met whilst maintaining an easy to use user interface. Accessibility and usability continue to be key lessons for us as we develop web based products for the market.
What are the outcomes and how has it improved your business?
This project has resulted in a separate web based software solution which is generic in nature but can be tailored to meet the requirements of many vertical markets. In particular we believe the solution is very appropriate in the professional services market and have successfully pursued this in our marketing strategy.
What are your plans for the future?
We continue to sell existing in house developed software solutions and respond to client needs for bespoke tools. Some of these tools will eventually become stand alone products and sold to the market.
