How did the project start?

Multichem wanted a web site that was easy to navigate so that customers could view product information quickly and efficiently. As their inks are constantly evolving they wanted to be able to update information and news items themselves - this meant a CMS system would be required.

What options did you consider?

We presented Multichem with a number of web page designs to choose from. We also planned the navigation carefully to keep it as simple as possible. Due to Mulitchem supplying their inks in a wide range of colours, we colour coded each section against a bold black background.

What help and expertise did you receive?

Designers and programmers worked closely together to maintain simplicity and ease of use. Programmers custom built the CMS and it is tailored exclusively to Multichem's needs.

Did you face any challenges or learn any lessons?

While the site is not multilingual, we had to bear in mind Multichem's international audience. We also had to create an extremely user-friendly news module - the latest 3 stories being transferred to the home page for immediate impact. Reference to upcoming trade show dates on the home page is also automatic.

What are the outcomes and how has it improved your business?

Multichem are delighted with the simplicity of the custom CMS - training took less than an hour. They have been able to keep product information up to the minute which is essential within their industry.

What are your plans for the future?

We plan to add new features to the CMS such as an image gallery. When the team arrive back from trade shows, digital images can be added immediately. We also plan to provide technical support whenever required.
