How did the project start?
The client, Protech HR, were looking at alternatives to sending customers and clients traditional printed Christmas cards.
What options did you consider?
Various digital and interactive solutions such as screensavers and e-cards were suggested before settling on a web-based arcade game.
What help and expertise did you receive?
The game and supporting email marketing campaign was created and developed in-house by Presence.
Did you face any challenges or learn any lessons?
The timescale involved was the biggest challenge - the whole project, from concept to launch was 3 weeks.
What are the outcomes and how has it improved your business?
Since it's launch in mid-December 2007, the game attracted over 6000 players, with Protech HR collecting marketing information of over 1200 individuals.
What are your plans for the future?
Following the success of Grand Theft Grotto we plan to create similar web-based games and viral marketing tools for more companies.
