Dates: Jun 2007 to Jan 2008
How did the project start?
Will Atkinson the MD of 21st Century Music, came to us one day with a vision to create a website that would give anyone the ability to sell their music online - regardless of their musical talent. It was from then, that Blooter was born.
What options did you consider?
The site had to be aimed at the masses. For those that were serious about making music, those that enjoyed listening to it, and those that just enjoyed picking up a guitar after a night out!
Will had a very clear idea about how Blooter should be perceived by the public, and the design had to reflect this. The site had to look modern, not too contemporary, and fun. Anything too professional could put off potential members if they thought it looked too commercial and serious.
What help and expertise did you receive?
All design and development was carried out in-house by ourselves.
Did you face any challenges or learn any lessons?
Aside from all else, the site needed something unique that would set it apart from the competition. We decided that incorporating Blooter Agents was going to be the key to being different to the rest.
To become a Blooter Agent, anyone can register online at Blooter.com and offer to represent an artist that they like. In exchange for promoting an artist in their quest for chart success, Blooter Agents get a cut from all online sales (in addition to some other great financial perks).
What are the outcomes and how has it improved your business?
Working with 21st Century Music, we came up with a great idea in the Blooter Agent.
It's always great to see the result of hard work and effort put into coming up with a new idea.
What are your plans for the future?
Will is always coming up with new ideas for Blooter, so no doubt there'll be more developments coming to the Blooter.com!
